Torrina Harris
Director of philanthropy/ Houston area women’s center
Torrina Harris serves as program director for Nia Cultural Center, supporting efforts that strengthen the community and family to improve the quality of life for children academically, culturally, mentally, and physically. She previously served as Communities of Care coordinator for the Family Service Center of Galveston County.
She participates in open mics and poetry slams as a performing poet and event host and organizer with Write About Now Poetry in Houston and Coast 2 Soul Poetry in Galveston. In addition, Torrina has served as the Poet in Residence at Galveston Central Church and on the boards of Galveston Family, Children & Youth Board, Nia Cultural Center Inc., and Vision Galveston.
